containers for coin soaking

I've read several post on coin storage, using non PVC flips to avoid damage to the coins.
But what about soaking containers ?
I have lots of small tupperware containers that would be perfect or should I stick to
glass jars only to avoid contamination.

Personally, I only soak in glass jars or bowls when I am doing cleaning. I've not tried any plastic containers, so it's an interesting question as to whether or not a given cleaning solution with materially break down a plastic enough to contaminate a coin long-term.

By the way, an odd coincidence as far as timing on the question of cleaning and storage. This topic arose on the Moneta list today as well. The reason I thought it was coincidental timing is because my October column in the Celator is on archival/storage options for collections and I touch briefly on cleaning/bronze disease. The issue should be out in a few weeks.

You're welcome. You want links? John Lavender has one of the most comprehensive list of links available:

Believe me - that will keep you busy for a couple of years if you explore all of them.

Enjoy!
