Viking Hoard found in Great Britain

The BBC claims that this is the most important Viking hoard found in the last 150 years.

Yes, I saw that earlier today. Pretty fascinating discovery. Especially the variety of objects from a wide range of countries.

I am looking forward to the tv show that will inevitably come out of this.

Detectorist found this half an hour away from where I live in York!.
Most of the 617 coins are Anglo-saxon pennies but 31 are Viking, fifteen are Islamic and four are Carolingian. There are 36 Athelstan(924-39) tower pennies (extremely rare) 47 portrait type Edward the Elder, 53 Alfred pennies 8 of archbishop Plegmend. The best example of a penny of Shitric I (921-927) ever discovered and many unique coins. All in fantastic condition got to be about a million pounds worth.
